Norwegian death metal ensemble Blood Red Throne has just released a new song Gore Encore. One high-quality modern take on classic old school metal.
Gore Encore opens with a cool riff, that easily could have been placed on one of the later Slayer albums. The whole structure of the song is, in fact, Slayer-like, with inspiration from bands like Deicide and Cannibal Corpse.
The main riff opens the song before the band kicks in and lifts the song brutally.
An interesting part is around 2.30 minutes in, where the songs change the character a bit and open a new layer of widespread guitars with some mythical Nordic black metal references, it works quite well and feels a bit like Behemoth.
If this is evidence of what to come on a new album from Blood Red Throne, it’s gonna be grand. Blood Red Throne goes directly for the throat in these 4 minutes of perfectly produced and executed death metal.
